Using gradiometry to preserve heritage assets

Using gradiometry to preserve heritage assets

Our rapid response to customer enquiries means that Bartington Instruments could help the NHS in Suffolk to fulfil its statutory duty regarding the conservation of heritage assets.

The National Planning and Policy Framework requires that when development is proposed on sites that include or could include heritage assets with archaeological interest, a survey should be undertaken before any work commences. The NHS in Sudbury, Suffolk had some land it wanted to sell for development so that the proceeds could be put into local healthcare. A rapid turnaround was required, and Bartington Instruments was able to process the order within a few days and provide a Grad601 gradiometer system for the work.

A case study describing the project is available on the Bartington Instruments case studies page.
