EMC Testing

Large DC and AC magnetic fields may have adverse effects on health. Regulations set out precautionary measures that limit exposure to magnetic fields over a range of frequencies starting at DC. To comply with regulations, it is necessary to measure magnetic fields associated with any equipment that generates large fields, such as furnaces and electric vehicles. Our sensors, including the Mag-13 and Mag690, when combined with the Spectramag-6, can be used to record the low frequency spectrum of magnetic fields. As part of EMC standards, a compass safe-distance test is used to determine how close the item can be to a compass before triggering a given field deviation (i.e affecting the compass). This test is carried out typically using a Mag-01H and B Probe. A Mag-13 and MagMeter-2 and are a suitable alternative.
